Is CRM for me?

Microsoft CRM has three primary functions

Customer management is often the primary use of a Customer Relationship Management system.  This area covers managing and organizing information about your customers.  You will use that information to better understand who they are, what they need, and as a result, generate more revenue for your organization.  Your information is stored in a centralized database, allowing for controlled and unified contact management. 

Some sub-areas of customer management are activity management, sales management and marketing.  

Activity management allows tracking activities (phone calls, emails and appointments and others) completed with an individual regardless of which CRM user completed them.  Those activities are "rolled up" to the "parent level", meaning, for example, that all activities of a companies employees would be "rolled up" to the company level as the company would be considered the "data parent".  

CRM's sales management includes the ability to manage business leads, convert leads into sales opportunities and manage the opportunities until they are closed.  Microsoft CRM contains a product catalog that includes pricing, volume discount capability, unit packaging and price lists.  Microsoft CRM is capable of handling multiple currencies and also offers the ability for individual users to use the same CRM in a different language.

CRM marketing offers valuable marketing capabilities such as mass emailing capabilities.  CRM email templates allow you to create personalized mass emails to keep in touch with your customers.  Where you want to find all of your customers in Albuquerque or email your customers in L.A., CRM makes it quick and easy to be efficient and effective. 

Service Scheduling: CRM's service scheduling capabilities let you go beyond managing information and into managing your operations. CRM allow you to identify specific services or functions your organization offers, the CRM users in your organization who are able to deliver that service and the times that those users are available.  

Case management with Microsoft CRM helps you track, support and fulfill customer requests.  This functional area is ideal for customer service and call center operations.  CRM has the ability to include knowledge base articles to make you team more effective and CRM's "subject tree" allows you to track patterns to effectively manage patterns and issues in your business.
